My Virtual Reality experience

Today we had the opportunity to have an experience with VR glasses provided by our teacher Tuncer Can in the class. He showed some glasses to us and gave us some information about it. I suppose there were four of them. The cheapest and most affordable one was the Google Cardboard glasses, it was priced around 5$. Most of the students got to try out the glasses the teacher brought us and i were left out from the majority and could not experience the beauty and charm of the VR glasses. I will be providing a video for you guys to see how amazing VR glasses are. They are actually quite pricey to be used in classroom context but when I become a teacher I certainly will try and integrate them into my teaching. I observed my friends and I can tell that it was really exciting for them too.

QR

You might have heard that Quick Response Codes or simply QR Codes are set to become the latest trend in technology but you don’t actually know what a QR Code is!? Quick Response Codes (QR codes) are simply a type of two-dimensional barcode that can only be read using smartphones or other devices that are dedicated to QR reading. The devices that can read a QR code connect directly to texts, emails, websites, phone numbers and many more! You might have accessed this website by scanning a QR code!

Storybird

Storybird is a great learner-based online tool for readers and writers. For example, picture books provide stunning images and stories based on author’s  creativity. Students can design picture books on their own or work in teams (e.g., author and artist) to create visually appealing representations of their knowledge. Meanwhile, longform books draw readers to engage in fantasy. Although “Longform books  may use artwork as a source of inspiration and to create a fancy cover, they are all about the word.” Third, poetry is designed for readers to get involved with words card picking and sentence implementation, including scramble-words to create personal artwork. Teachers and parents can also pay to have students’ books printed through the online shop. Storybird allows students to showcase their creative thoughts through storytelling and art in social networking inclusive

Aurasma

In the previous Instructional Material Design lesson we used an app named Hp Reveal for AR ( Augmented Reality ). By using this app you can see the objects with a 3d perspective or you can put any object on real things. It was a good experience to use such a future Technology

The origin of the word augmented is augment, which means to add or enhance something. In the case of Augmented Reality (also called AR), graphics, sounds, and touch feedback are added into our natural world to create an enhanced user experience.

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval.

I have prepared an activity for 2nd class students. Click to see it, if you are interested.
